Pasting inside of a vector is great for instances where you need to make an image a certain shape (other than square or rectangular). Rounded corners is a common use for this effect which is why I chose it for the tutorial but feel free to be adventurous. If you can make the shape you can paste inside of it. Enjoy!
Step One:
First make the shape that you would like your image to be using the vector shape tool
Step Two:
Now import your image to the canvas by pressing ctrl-r and place or you can copy and paste from another program.
Step Three:
Place the image on top of your shape where you would like for it to be placed
#FFFFFF
#0099CC
#0066CC
#0033CC
Step Four:
Now import your image to the canvas by pressing ctrl-r and place or you can copy and paste from another program.
Step Five:
Now your image will take the shape of the vector. The image will not be editable from here on so if you need to make any adjustments press undo a few times and try again.
You’re done!
Thats it! Keep in mind that you can paste more than just images inside of vectors. Personalize your creation, and have fun.
